Pauline Cornelison, Bethany, Mo.

Afton - Pauline Charlotte Cornelison, 78, of Bethany, Mo., formerly of Afton, died Nov. 22, 1995, at the Harrison County Memorial Hospital, Bethany, Mo.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stroud-Lindsay-Powers Funeral Home, 612 N. Dodge Street, Afton. The Rev. Michael Payne will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Barney Cemetery, Barney, Iowa. There is no public visitation, but visitation for family members only. A memorial will be established in her name.

Mrs. Cornelison was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Pottawattamie County to Clyde William and Rosa Bell (Wilson) Smiley. She graduated from Osceola High School in 1935. In January 1937, she married Everett Hilterbrand in Osceola, and they were divorced in 1939. On Sept. 1, 1945, she married Oliver Harold Cornelison in Bethany, Mo.

She assisted her husband in farming, worked as a cook for the Blairsburg Truck Stop and as a nurse's aid at the Colonial Manor in Zearing. She lived at Murray, Kamrar and near Zearing before retiring in 1979 and moving south of Afton and 1987 to Bethany, Mo.

Survivors include two daughters, Colleen (husband Ron) Hoyt of Afton and Phyllis Wood of Afton; four sons, Earl (wife Annie) Cornelison of Golden City, Mo., Willis (wife Penny) Cornelison of Cainsville, Mo., Harold (wife Lois) Cornelison of Webster City and Thomas Cornelison of Osceola; a sister, Evelyn Parker of Longmont, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Everett Hilterbrand; second husband, Oliver Cornelison on Sept. 21, 1984; five sisters; two brothers; and a grandson.
