Page 1Death of Charles Hain
Charles Hain died Monday, October 28th, at the age of 70 years. He would have celebrated his 71st birthday Tuesday, October 29th. The Rev. Paul Main Fowler conducted the funeral services at the Tidrick funeral home, Wednesday afternoon, October 30th, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Hain was born at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, October 29, 1858. He came to Winterset with his family, and was married to Lura J. Kelley in Des Moines, May 29, 1883. In 1896 they moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hain united with the German Lutheran church at the age of 14 years. He became ill nineteen years ago. He returned to Winterset four years ago and has been almost an invalid since his return.
He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Lillian Hearilin, of St. Louis, Missouri, and a niece and three nephews.
