Charles Abrahams Funeral Held

Charles W. Abrahams a native of Winterset, died Feb. 19 at Orange, California. He was 57 years of age.

A son of William B. and Grace Abrahams, he was born at Winterset on Nov. 12, 1922. He attended Winterset schools, graduating from high school in 1941.

He also was a graduate of Simpson College in Indianola. During World War II he served as a Marine Corps pilot.

Abrahams retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years of service, with the rank of Major. He then worked for the state of California, living in Orange.

Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline; two sons; one daughter, two grandchildren; a brother, Gerorge (George) Abrahams of Winterset; and two sisters, Mary Null of San Diego, Calif., and Laura Kobarg of Galveston, Texas.

Funeral services were held Feb. 19 from the Trinity Episcopal Church in Orange. An honor guard detail from the U.S. Marine Corps base at El Toro participated.

Private burial services were held at Riverside National Cemetery.
