Alnora R. Abbott, Winterset

Alnora R. Christensen Abbott, 77, of Winterset died of heart failure April 27, 1999, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. A private burial followed.

Alnora Abbott was born Nov. 25, 1921, to Emanuel and Wilhilmina (Stender) Christensen of Hancock. She attended school in Gates and Greenfield. During her working career, she was a homemaker and a telephone operator for the Northwestern Bell Telephone. Alnora also was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Gennie Duff of Winterset and Yvonne Gerhart (husband Jim ) of Gilbert, Ariz.; one son, Dean Abbott (wife Klystell) of Winterset; three sisters, Clarine Lundy of Fontanelle and Aleen Weaver and Pauline Steffens, both of Atlantic; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset.
