Geraldine Crist, 70, of Florissant, Mo., formerly of Peru, died of complications of pneumonia on Nov. 20, 1996 at St. Elizabeth Manor in Florissant, Mo. Funeral services were Nov. 23 at the Peru Methodist Church. The Rev. Joan White officiated the services and burial was at the Peru Cemetery.
She was born June 6, 1926 in Fairfield to Roy and Nellie (Simmon) Cook. She married Maurice Alvin Crist on Feb. 4, 1944 in Kirksville, Mo. She was a housewife and a cook at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Prior to moving to Missouri in 1990, she had lived in Peru. She was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Florissant, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; two sisters; and one brother.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Roy Crist and wife Rande of Stillwater, Minn., and Joe Crist and wife Jan of Florissant, Mo.; three daughters, Carol Gleason of Oskaloosa, Jane Williams of Des Moines, and Karen Glandon of Gig Harbor, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Crist of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Willoughby Kitchen of Pittsburgh; two brothers, John Cook of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dale Cox of Fairfield; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Geraldine Crist, daughter of Roy and Nellie Simon Cook, was born June 6, 1926, at Fairfield and died Nov. 20, 1996, at St. Elizabeth Manor in Florissant, Mo. She was 70.
She lived in Fairfield as a child and attended school there.
She married Maurice Alvin Crist on Feb. 4, 1944, in Kirksville, Mo. The couple became the parents of six children. Mrs. Crist, a homemaker also was a cook at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was an avid reader and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Mrs. Crist moved from her home in Peru to the St. Louis area to be near her family.
She attended the Bethel United church of Christ in Florissant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice in 1990; a son Maurice Jr. and two sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Crist is survived by two sons, Roy Crist and his wife, Randee Crist, of Stillwater, Minn. and Joe Crist and his wife, Jan Crist, of Florissant; three daughters, Carol Gleason of Oskaloosa, Jane Williams of Des Moines and Karen Glandon of Gig Harbor, Wash., a daughter-in-law, Darlene Crist of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Willoughby Kitchen of Pittsburg; two brothers, John Cook of Las Vegas, Nev. And Dale Cox of Birmingham; along with other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Crist were at 11 a.m. Nov. 23 at the United Methodist Church in Peru, Pastor Joan White of Truro officiating. Organist Pennie Gonseth accompanied Linda Akers as she sang In the Garden and How Great Thou Art.
Casket bearers were Mrs. Crist’s grandsons, Daniel Gleason, Raymond Gleason, Roy Crist Jr., Donald Crist, Terry Williams, Mitchell Crist, Damon DeWild, Christopher Gleason, Jeffrey Crist and Willis Crist. Interment was in Peru Cemetery. Arrangements were through Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
