Death of Thos. L. Mullinnix

Thomas L. Mullinnix was born in Johnson county, Indiana, February 6th, 1844, coming to Madison county, Iowa in 1855, and later locating in Winterset.

His early life was spent on a farm, and clerking in the store owned by Andrew Crawford, Sr.

In 1868 he began business for himself, conducting a grocery store in Winterset continuously for a period of forty-four years. He was married in 1874 to Elizabeth Harris. Three children were born to them, two dying in infancy, the third, now Mrs. F. A. Lewis, together with one grandson, and the wife, survive him.

Funeral services were held at the home on east Green street, Thursday at 2:30, conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton.

In the death of Mr. Mullinnix, Winterset has lost an honest and upright citizen whom everyone respected and trusted.
