Page 1Death of Walter E. Call
Walter E. Call, who was born and raised in Madison county, died at his home, east of Peru, last Thursday, January 17th, at the age of 42 years. Death was due to heart trouble.
He was the son of Jesse and Anna (Moore) Call, who preceded him in death. He leaves one brother, Ben Call, of Arispie, and his wife to mourn his loss. Mrs. Call was at the bedside of her sick mother, in Carthage, Illinois, when she received the message of her husband's death.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the M. E. church in Peru, the Rev. W. C. Porter officiating, assisted by Rev. Cottingham of Lorimor.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Call of Arispie, and Miss Anna Reece of Carthage, who accompanied Mrs. Call home, were there for the funeral.

Walter Call, who lived a mile east of Peru. was found dead in bed Thursday morning of last week. He had been in good health. Mrs. Call was in Carthage, Illinois, at the time of her husband's death, being called there by the serious illness of her mother. She arrived in Peru Friday evening and a brother, Ben Call, of Arispo reached Peru Thursday.
Mr. Call was reared in Scott township and with the exception of several years spent in Des Moines had lived all his life near Peru. He had been engaged in the coal and dray business in Peru the past four years. Surviving are his widow, his brother and an aunt Mrs. Jacob Garst.
The Rev. W. C. Porter, of Winterset conducted the services Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Peru; burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Walter Everett Call, son of Jesse and Anna L. (Moore) Call was born at Peru, Iowa, August 17, 1885 and died January 17, 1929, at the age of 43 years and 5 months.
He was married on September 24, 1908 to Lulu May Barger, of Carthage, Illinois. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Opal of California; one brother J. B. Call, of Arispe' an aunt Mrs. J. E. Garst, of Peru; and uncle, George Call, of Terre Haute, Indiana and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, January 21, at the Methodist church in Peru, conducted by the Rev. W. C. Porter, of Winterset cemetery.
