Jan. 18, 2006, page 5aDeloros “Dee Dee” von Rentzell, 65, of Earlham died Jan. 13, 2006.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 16, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with Pastor Charlie Thompson officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.
Dee Dee von Rentzell was born Feb. 5, 1940, in rural Adair County to Don. J. and Ruby (Endres) Thompson. She attended Grand River Country School in rural Adair County and Greenfield High School. On June 8, 1957, she was united in marriage to Dale von Rentzell Sr. in Maryville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Dean, Dick, and George.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Sr., of Earlham; one daughter, Donna Carey of Winterset; three sons, Dale con Rentzell Jr., Dan von Rentzell and Darrell “Butch” von Rentzell, all of Earlham; a brother, Don W. Thompson of Greenfield; a sister, Barb Farber of Earlham; and three grandchildren, one great-grandson, three stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-granddaughters.

Pages 2 & 3Funeral services were held for Deloros J. von Rentzell on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham, Iowa. Pastor Charlie Thompson officiated. Special music was “In The Garden” and “Beyond the Sunset”.
Pallbearers were: Tom von Rentzell, Terry von Rentzell, Dave von Rentzell, Matt Farber, Doug Farber, and Brian Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were: Dean von Rentzell, Al Farber, Keith Griffin, Jack Johns, Donald Thompson, and Glen Babcock.
Deloros “Dee Dee” (Thompson) von Rentzell was born February 5, 1940 to Don J. and Ruby (Endres) Thompson in Rural Adair County. Dee Dee attended Grand River country school in rural Adair County and Greenfield High School.
On June 8, 1957, she was united in marriage to ale von Rentzell, Sr. in Maryville, Missouri. To this union four children were born. Dee Dee was a homemaker and an excellent baker. She was known as the “Cake Lady” because of her beautiful cakes. She enjoyed making crafts, bowling and Saturday night bingo.
Dee Dee was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dean, Richard “Dick” and George; and brother-in-law, Dennis von Rentzell.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, Sr. of Earlham; daughter, Donna (Jim) Carey of Winterset; sons, Dale, Jr., Dan and Darrell “Butch” (Wanda) von Rentzell; all of Earlham; three grandchildren, one great-grandson; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-granddaughters; brother, Don W. (Myrtle) Thompson of Greenfield sister, Barb (Al) Farber of Earlham; sister-in-law, Sue Thompson of Leon, Ginger Thompson of Greenfield; brother-in-law, Dean (Joyce) von Rentzell of Earlham; sister-in-law, Jo von Rentzell of Lincoln, Nebraska; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery in Earlham, Iowa. Kuhn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
