Franklin Franta was born in Gilboa, Ohio, September 28, 1875. He came to Kellogg, Iowa, in 1893, and was married there to Mary Catherine Sandusky on February 12, 1900. Four children came to their home.

The family came to the vicinity of Earlham in 1906 and lived here and in the Penn Center neighborhood several years. His wife died May 13, 1913.

While living in Des Moines, he married Mrs. Anna Henson December 20, 1919, to whom two children were born.

Mr. Frantz had not been well for many months and was taken to the Lutheran Hospital in March for an operation. He died there June 9, 1928

Mr. Frantz accepted Christ in early manhood, and later with his wife Mary, united with the Christian Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Ynona, and Myrtle, of Des Moines, Erith, of Los Angeles, Cal., Alma, of Pinkstaff, Ill., his wife Anna, and their small children, William and Martha, of Des Moines, besides three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held June 11 At Penn Center, conducted by Rev. Walter Morgan of Des Moines.
