ADDIE M. FITZHUGH BOND

Addie M. Fitzhugh, daughter of John and Martha A. Fitzhugh, was born near Ashland, Illinois, August 14, 1865, and died December 26, 1937, at 4:15 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Young. The cause of her death was a heart ailment with which she had suffered for sometime. The final attack was short and her suffering was swallowed up in eternal rest.

On January 13, 1891, Addie was united in marriage with Horace M. Bond. They lived near Springfield, Illinois, until 1902, when the family moved to Madison County, Iowa. Mrs. Bond spent the remainder of her life in this county.

To this union were born six children: Ruth, John Frank, Grace, Mary, Stephen F., and Robert H. Two of the children have preceded their mother to the Great Beyond: Ruth, who became Mrs. Lunn, died in 1915, and John Frank in 1925. Also her husband passed on in 1933.

Addie M. Fitzhugh became a Christian and joined the Methodist church in the Eckman Chapel near Ashland, Illinois, when 15 or 16 years of age. She has always remained a loyal member and attended the means of grace when her health would permit. Mrs. Bond transferred her membership to the St. Charles church about 20 years ago.

Mrs. bond was a fine Christian lady, highly respected and loved by all who knew her. Because of her kindness, her thoughtfulness for others and her ever ready helpfulness she will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are the four children: Mrs. Grace Luebon, of Montivedo, Minnesota, Mrs. Mary Young, Stephen F. and Robert H., twelve grandchildren, one great grandson, one sister; Mrs. Martha Bellatti, of Mt. Pluskia, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Young, and the St. Charles Methodist Church Tuesday, December 28, conducted by the pastor, Elmer L. Patterson, under the direction of Harley F. Reed. Interment was made in the Earlham Cemetery.
