December 1964Florence C. Bohrer, daughter of Benjamin F. Hale and Elva E. Baird Hale was born at Bolivar, Missouri, August 15, 1880 and died December 27, 1964 after several years of failing health.
As a young girl, she lived with her parents in Missouri and Oklahoma, coming to Iowa in 1897.
In March 1899 she and Charles E. Bohrer were married at Yorktown, Iowa. They were the parents of three children: Boyd R. Bohrer of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Leslie R. (Beulah) Goeldner of Earlham, Iowa; and Mrs. Andrew (Clarice) Booth of Amherst, Massachusetts.
She and her husband farmed for many years in Page County, Iowa until 1948 when they sold their farm and moved to Earlham.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and participated in church activities during her active years.
She spent her leisure hours reading, sewing and among her flowers.
After fifty-eight years together, her husband died in 1956. She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Aleathe Fehrs of South Gate, California, Mrs. Joan Sheldon of Arkansas City, Kansas and Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska, one brother John E. Hale of Clarinda, Iowa, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
