Death of C. W. Burd

Word has been received here recently, of the death of C. W. Burd, a former resident of Winterset, at a doctor's office in Monte Vista, Colorado. It is stated that he died suddenly from heart failure, Friday morning, April 19, 1929.

Mr. Burd was a son of S. S. and Mary Burd, and was born near Winterset, April 13, 1878. In 1905, he went to the San Louis Valley, in Colorado, and on March 5, 1917, he was married to Miss Lylene Bucheimer. One daughter, Betty Jo, was born to this union, and preceded her father in death, July 7, 1924. Relatives surviving Mr. Burd, are his widow and a son, Don Burd, by a former marriage; a sister, Mrs. H. E. Dilley of Winterset, and two brothers, Henry Burd of Winterset, and Leonard of Mantorville, Minnesota.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Spargo of the Methodist church, Sunday, April 21st, and burial was at the Monte Vista cemetery.
