Page 4Mr. Alfred Garner, one of Winterset's old and respected citizens, died very suddenly on Friday the 13th inst. He had been in his usual health up to the day of his death, the day before performing a full day's work; indeed it is thought that his exposure to the extreme heat of that day hastened the fatal attack.
His funeral was held the following Sunday, the burial service being conducted by the Masonic fraternity and attended by the children of the north ward school, of which he was janitor for some years.
