Services for N. E. Kelley, 85, long time Winterset resident who died Sunday, Dec. 5 (1982) at the Bethesda Care Center, were held today (Wednesday) Dec. 8 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Altoona Cemetery.

Mr. Kelley was born in Altoona May 8, 1897, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kelley. On May 20, 1916 he married Ina Pearson in Des Moines. He spent most of his life as a banker and retired in 1979. He lived in Winterset the past 48 years.

He was a past master of the Altoona Masonic Lodge, past patron of the Altoona Eastern Star, past president of the Winterset's Lions Club, past district governor of the Lions Club, past treasurer of the Lakeview County Club and charter member, past president of the Farmers and Merchants State Bank and organizer of the bank, and member of the 50-year Banker's Association.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Eugene of Jacksonville, Ark.; a daughter Berneice Mease of Winterset; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Alice Rees, and two brothers, Cecil and Karl.
