Jacob Fred Fink was born January 14, 1906 on a farm in Madison County, Iowa to Mary C. (Schmidt) and Jacob Fink and departed this life November 5, 1992. Death came unexpectedly following a heart attack while preparing supper and was a terrible shock to everyone.

He received his elementary education at Penn #9 in Madison County.

Fred was engaged in farming all his life until a heart attack in 1967 forced his retirement, but he continued to live on the farm, where he played an active role in renting the farmland to his neighbors.

On March 10, 1931 Fred was united in marriage to Elaine Holderbaum and three daughters were born to this union.

He was a member of the Dexter Presbyterian Church.

His family and home were always a great love and concern to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was happiest when he was solving some problem, such as fixing his girls' broken dolls or the mowers or whatever, and when he was out in the fields or his yard where nature spoke to him of God's greatness and goodness.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother George; three sisters, Daisy Fink, Esther Boyle and Ila Lindahl, and one son-in-law, Arthur Huntington.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Elaine; his three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Fausch of Ames, Mrs. Arthur (Maxine) Huntington of Creston and Mrs. Jim (Norma Jean) Garwood of Albia; four granddaughters, Mrs. Dave (Karen) Klinkefus, Mrs. David (Mary) Neyens, Mrs. Philip (Pamela) LaRue and Sharon Huntington; two great grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Klinkefus; one sister, Edith Lovell of Stuart; two brothers, Oliver and Eldon of Greenfield; a niece Mrs. William (Betty) Cornwell; a nephew, Claude Boyle, and many friends.

Burial was at South Oak Grove Cemetery, Stuart, Iowa.
