Paul Wayne Hochstetler, son of Charles H. and Lillian L. May Hochstetler, was born March 5, 1906 in Madison County near Dexter and died September 13 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 71.

He was united in marriage to Lelah Russell on December 22, 1933. Paul was a farmer his entire life in the Pitzer and Penn Center neighborhoods. He was a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian Church and a former Jackson township school board member.

Survivors are his wife; sons James of Winterset and Charles of Valley City, North Dakota; daughter Betty of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; brother Francis of Dexter; and two sisters, Anna Brown of Earlham and Eva Towns of Creston.

The funeral service was held at Pitzer United Presbyterian Church on September 16, conducted by Rev. Jerry Evelsizer. Burial was made in the Dexter Cemetery.
