Wednesday, January 4, 2006Vyrle L. Hendricks, 88, of Winterset died Jan. 3, 2006, at Winterset Care Center South.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Winterset Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Vyrle Hendricks was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Towner, Colo., to William and Pearl (Ford) Silliman. She married Walter Hendricks, who preceded her in death. Vyrle, a homemaker, was retired from Meredith Corporation where she worked in the subscription department. She attended the First Christian Church in Winterset and was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son Walter “Bud” Hendricks Jr.; a sister, Mary Silliman; and two brothers, Ford Silliman and James Silliman.
She is survived by three daughters, Doris Coen of St. Joseph, Mo., Marliss Ross of Eldon, MO., and Jean Burger of West Des Moines; three sons, Donald Hendricks of Park Rapids, Minn., and Robert Hendricks and Gregory Hendricks, both of Winterset; a sister, Eileen Roe of Lamar, Colo.; two brothers, William Silliman of Grand Junction, Colo., and Jay Silliman of Topeka, Kan.; and 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church in Winterset.
Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
