Services for Gailen N. Ham, 56 of Winterset, who died February 7, 1985 at his residence, were held Saturday,February 9 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers and the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County March 1, 1928, he was the son of Jesse and Bertha Nelson Ham. He was a life time resident of the county and was a salesman for Adam-Thompson John Deere Implement Co.

Mr. Ham was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion post, past commander of the post and past vice-commander of the Legion district.

He graduated from Winterset High School in 1945 and married Carolyn Danley on Feb. 12, 1954, in Madison County.

Survivors include his wife; his father, sons, Tim and Todd; a daughter, Carol Ann; and brothers, Dale and Ivan, all of Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a daughter.
