E. J. Flannery Died Saturday

Emmett J. Flannery,a widely known Douglas township farmer, died at the Memorial hospital in Winterset Saturday, Jan. 21, 1956, after several years of illness with a heart condition. He was 56 years of age.

Mr. Flannery had been a resident of Madison County about 25 years. He was a native of Bondurant. He was born Feb. 5, 1899,a son of Dennis C. and Mary Sinon Flannery.He also lived in Warren county before coming to Madison county.

He was married Jan. 19, 1927, to Charlotte Perkins of Winterset. They were parents of two sons. Mr. Flannery was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset.

Surviving are his wife; the two sons, John M. Flannery, and Patrick J. Flannery, both at home; three brothers, James, Jerry and Leo Flannery, all of Boundurant; and a sister, Mrs. John McIlhon of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from St.Josephs Catholic Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John Higgins. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
