Barney Johnson Dies At Hospital

Barney Johnson of Bevington, died Sunday, the 25th, at Mercy hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were held on Tuesday and burial at St. Patrick's cemetery in Lee township.

The deceased was one of the best known men in Crawford township, and had extensive real estate holdings in both Madison and Warren counties. He was one of the first business men in Bevington, and besides farming, carried on the business of a hardware store and lumber yard.

When we go to Bevington, we shall miss that warm, genial Irish greeting from Barney Johnson. He was generous and big hearted, as are most of the Irish people and there is many a young man in ---- Madison and Warren counties who will gratefully remember that Barney Johnson was a true friend to the young man without money or credit.
