Death of Joseph McLarrnd

Joseph McLarnard died at his home in Winterset, December 27th, at the age of 73 years. He had been in failing health for several weeks. He was the son of Hugh and Mary Jane McLarnard. One sister, Mrs. Libby Gordon, preceded him in death.

When 21 years of age he came to Iowa, and on January 30th, 1882, he was married to Miss Candace Rhodes of Union township, and spent the rest of his life in the county.

He leaves to mourn his loss their four children, Mrs. Beulah Platt of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Sylvia Griswold, Mrs. Leila Fuson and Samuel McLarnrnd, besides twelve grandchildren, a brother Frank McLarnand, and two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Griffen of Hydro, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Ida Henkins of Detroit.

Funeral services were conducted from the Ramsey-Richard funeral home, Sunday, December 30th, by the Rev. W. C. Porter. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
