Death of Mrs. Sarah Cooper

Mrs. Sarah Cooper died at her home on South Second avenue, Saturday, July 14th, after an illness of several weeks, from cancer and complications. She was 62 years of age.

Mrs. Cooper was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Daniel and was born near Terre Haute, Indiana. She lived there until she was 16 years of age, at which time she moved with her parents to this county.

She was married to Frank Cooper in 1883, and they lived in different parts of this county until 18 years ago, when she and her children moved to Winterset. She was a member of the United Brethren church, but later transferred her membership to the local Methodist church. Mrs. Cooper had been in poor health for several years, but became much worse a short time ago.

Seven of her children died in infancy, but she is survived by three. Dollie and Wallace at home, and Mrs. Harry Locke of Winterset. She also leaves six brothers, Charles Daniel of Prescott; Ben of Iron Mountain, Michigan; Marion of Spencer; Will of St. Charles; Fred of St. Joe, Missouri; and Elmer of Des Moines, and three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Diggs and Mrs. Ida Mitchell of Winterset, and Mrs. Rhoda Watt of Ackley, Minnesota.

Rev. A. R. Weed conducted the funeral services in the Winterset Methodist church--------burial in the Union Chapel cemetery.

Sarah Francis Cooper

Sarah Francis, daughter of William B. and Alice Farr Daniel was born in Terre Haute, Indiana January 1, 1866.

Her home was near Terre Haute until she moved with the family to Madison county, Iowa, when she was 16 years old. They lived in the neighborhood of Truro until her marriage to Frank Cooper in 1883. She lived on different farms in the county until she moved to town thirteen years ago. And since then she and the children have made their home in Winterset.

She was converted when quite young and became a member of the United Brethren church. After moving to town she transferred her membership to the Methodist cChurch of Winterset where she has continued a faithful member. She attended church regularly and took delight in the services until the past two years when she has been unable to attend.

She was a faithful mother working continually for her children, often beyond her strength and with a love that new no limits. She has been in failing health for the past two years and passed away in her home July 14, 1928, aged 62 years six months and thirteen days.

Seven children died in infancy and the three children living are Dollie and Wallace in the home and Mrs. Harry Locke of Winterset. She also leaves six brothers, Charlie Daniel of Prescott, Iowa; Ben of Iron Mountain, Michigan; Marion of Spencer, Iowa; Will of St. Charles, Iowa; Fred of St. Joseph, Missouri and Elmer of Des Moines, Iowa. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Diggs and Mrs. Ida Mitchell of Winterset and Mrs. Rhoda Watt of Akley, Minnesota.

Rev. a. R. Weed conducted the funeral service in the Winterset Methodist church Monday afternoon, July 16 and the interment was in the Union Chapel Cemetery.
