Services for Joe J. Fleming, 78, Winterset, who died July 23 at his residence, were held Saturday, July 26, at the Worthington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Farr officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Cass County Nov. 10, 1907, he was the son of Joseph and Bessie Lahman Fleming. He was a retired farmer and had lived most of his life in the Winterset area. On Nov. 22, 1930, he was married to Luthera Edna Ribble.

Mr. Fleming was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church, the Oddfellows and the Lakeview Country Club.

Survivors include a son, Richard Joseph Fleming, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; brothers, Paul Fleming of Hagerman, Idaho and John Fleming of Bliss, Idaho; sisters, Mary Spillers of Winterset and Leona Garrison of Ceres, Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a son and three brothers.
