Graveside service for Clifford L. Hochstetler, 77, Winterset who died Aug. 25 at the Care Center North where he resided, will be held at 7:00p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, at Dexter Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Jan. 20, 1907, he was the son of Everett and Ina Lyddon Hochstetler. On Sept. 9, 1934, he was married to Altabelle Armstrong at Guthrie Center.

Mr. Hochstetler had been a resident here since 1977, coming from Menlo. He was a retired welder.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Clifford Jr. of Stuart, William of Norwalk and Richard of Des Moines; daughters, Carol McGinnis of Norwalk, Mary Bunnell of Dexter and Barbara Travis of Downey, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and infant sister.

Clifford Leroy Hochstetler, second son of Everett and Ina Lyddon Hochstetler, was born January 20, 1907 in Madison County, Iowa and passed away August 25, 1984 at the age of 77 years, seven months and five days at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset, Iowa.

He was raised and attended school in Dexter and Texas and graduated from Dexter High School in 1925.

He was married on September 30, 1934 to Alta Belle Armstrong, of Stuart. They resided in Stuart for 26 years while he was employed as a welder for the railroads until he was disabled in 1960, later moving to rural Dexter, Des Moines, Menlo and Winterset for the past seven years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister, his older brother Cecil E. and a granddaughter, Janet Lynn Bunnell.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Clifford jr., of Stuart, Bill of Norwalk, and Dick, of Des Moines; three daughters, Carol McGinnis, of Norwalk, Mary Bunnell, of Dexter, and Barbara Travis, of Downey, California; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, L. Elaine Landers, of Fort Worth, Texas, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, several cousins and friends.

Funeral services were conducted August 30, 1984 with the Rev. George Thurman, of Stuart, officiating. Interment was in the Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa.
