OBITUARY

Laura Belle Hightower, daughter of Joseph and Millie Hightower was born in Dallas County, Iowa, near Earlham, on April 27, 1874 and departed this phase of life in St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge, Minnesota, on May 17, 1940. She spent her childhood, and grew into womanhood near Earlham, excepting for a short time when the family lived in Clay County, Iowa.

She was married to Clyde McKibben on November 25, 1896, and they established their home on a farm near Earlham, living in that vicinity for several years, but later moving to Massena, Iowa, and late on to Nevinville. In spring of 1921 the family moved to Breckenridge, Minnesota, where they have since resided.

To Mr. and Mrs. McKIbben were born four children, who with her husband survive her. They are, Mrs. Calvin Limbaugh, Fontanelle, Iowa; Mrs. C. A. Huisman, Sauk Center, Minnesota; Pernal and Frank McKibben, Breckenridge, Minnesota. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister; John Hightower, Indianpolis, Indiana; Carl Hightower, Des Moines, Iowa; and Mrs. Wm. Walker, Des Moines, Iowa; also by eight grandchildren, who with one exception were all present at her funeral, on the afternoon of May 20, 1940. The funeral was at the First Methodist Church, Breckenridge, Minnesota, with the pastor, Rev. Hill officiating.
