JESSIE BEATRICE MARK

Jessie Beatrice Mark, daughter of Joseph and Jane Heath, was born July 31, 1881 in Douglas County, Illinois and passed away Sunday, June 7, 1964 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 7 days. She was a twin, her twin preceding her in infancy. She was next to the youngest of fourteen children.

At the age of four she went to make her home with John and Hattie College with whom she lived till she grew to womanhood. She attended school at Adel, later attending Drake University. She taught school in Dallas County until her marriage to William A. Mark on September 15, 1910.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her foster parents, her husband, William A. Mark who died July 29, 1955, and all of her brothers and sisters except one brother, Dolph Heath, who lives in California, and one sister, Iona Wagoner, who lives in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Surviving her to mourn her passing are her two sons, Paul of Earlham and Clifford of Des Moines, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren besides many relatives and friends.

She had been in lifelong member of the Christian Church until moving to Earlham to the Parkview Custodial Home in 1962 at which time she became a member of the Earlham Methodist Church. She had made her home at Parkview until the time of her death. She suffered a stroke April 31, 1964 and had been in failing health since that time.
