June 1916Obituary
Time has turned the last page of a dearly loved, and death has thrown its dark shadow on another home lately graced by the sweet presence of a precious daughter and sister. Stella Wilhelmenia McCleary, only daughter of John O and Mary McCleary entered this life June 15, 1897 in Jefferson Twp. of this county. She entered the life eternal June 12, 1916 at the age of 18 years 11 months and 27 days.
During the winter of 1910, Feb. 3, Stella was converted under the ministry of Rev. Lure and united with the Hickory Grove United Brethern Church. She placed her life in the keeping of her Savior and faithfully exemplified the life of Christ in her loving service for others; Stella never had an enemy in her life, and her soul as it went back to God was not less pure and white than the robe in which she lies sleeping today.
The beautiful life that has gone out was filled with loving devotion and service, the memory of which will be a constant benediction to her loved ones. Pure in life, prepared for death, crowned with the love and respect of all those who knew her, she has entered the existence where her expectant spirit awaits the coming of her dear ones.
She leaves her father, mother, three brothers - Millard O., Vernon E and N. Curtis; Two having preceded her in death, little Ernest at the age of 13 months and an infant brother - Besides these named her sister-in-law Mrs. Millard McCleary, her aged grandmother and hosts of living relatives and friends who mourn today and lovingly will we remember the beautiful life which is ended so untimely.
