Cecil Robert Miller, 78, of Plano, Texas, died March 11, 2005.
Funeral services will be held at ll a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Storm Lake Church of Christ with Pastor Jack Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cecil Miller was born April 3, 1926, to George William and Mamie (Claypool) Miller of Murray. He
was a 1943 graduate of Storm Lake High School. During World War II, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the Philippine theatre.On his return home from the war, he worked for the United Stats Postal Service. On June 25, 1950, he was united in marriage to Maxine Mae Nielsen. Cecil changed careers at that time, farming in the Storm Lake area. In 1957, he and his family moved to East Peru in Madison County where he farmed for the next 37 years. Before moving to Plano, Texas, in May of 2004, he and his wife resided in West Des Moines. He was a member of the Storm Lake Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Freel Miller and Russell Harken Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Plano, Texas two daughters, Debby Kruse of Irving, Texas, and Melinda Brown of Virginia Beach, Va.; one son, Mark Miller of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Kenneth Miller of Spencer and John Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
