Services for Nola L. McKibben, 73, Adel, who died May 7, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Tuesday, May 10 at the Chamberlain Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Ives officiating. Burial was at the North McDonald Cemetery in Madison County.
Born Oct. 25, 1909, in rural Winterset, she was the daughter of Rufus and Mable Smith Baker, She married Vergene McKibben Mar. 11, 1946. He died May 14, 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Hutchins, and a son, Jack Chapman, both of Adel; a brother, Dwight of Des Moines; and sisters, Marcy Baker of Winterset, Eva Carter of Des Moines, and Louise Walker of West Des Moines; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. McKibben lived in Adel the last 37 years and was a postmistress in DeSoto and owned and operated a produce market in Adel. She was a 1928 graduate of Winterset High School and worked at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines before retiring.
Correction
In the obituary carried last week of Nola L. McKibben, Marcy Baker of Winterset was incorrectly listed. He is a brother of Mrs. McKibben. The Madisonian regrets this error.
