Services for Earl B. Frey, 80, Winterset, who died April 4, 1989, at his residence, were held Friday, April 7, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence and Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Nevada, Iowa on Sept. 2, 1908, he was the son of Albert and Luella Ulum Frey, Mr. Frey spent most of his lifeime in Madison County and the past 30 years in Winterset. He was a retired Madison County Treasurer, worked for the Farm Bureau and was a farmer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

On Aug. 29, 1936, he was married to Mary A. Comp at Rockport, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Bernard of San Antonio, Texas, David of West Des Moines and Jim of West Des Moines; a brother Glen of Cedar Rapids seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
