ALBERT RICHARD ALLSUP

Albert Richard Allsup was born on January 3, 1882 in Henry County, Iowa, and died at his home in Earlham on October 11, 1960 at the age of 78 years, nine months and eight days.

For thirteen years he lived on a farm near Winterset, and has resided in Earlham for the past three years.

In 1944 he was united in marriage with Verna Cook. His children are Flossie Cox of Des Moines, Earl Allsup of Earlham, Viola Fellows of Long Beach, California, Glenn Allsup of Colfax, Howard Allsup of Redfield, Luese Paullin of Dexter, Bernice Smith of Newton, Ernest Allsup of Stuart, Edna Algreen of Dexter, and Kenneth Allsup of Knoxville.

He is survived by his wife and his children, two brothers, Roy and Walter Allsup, two sisters Myrtle Morris and Alice Calkins, 36 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. His many friends and neighbors also share the loss of his passing.

Albert Allsup was a diligent and faithful workman. Even when his health would have indicated the need of rest, he went about his work of helping to keep the community cleaner and a better place in which to live. He took a deep interest in young people and went out of his way to help them.

The funeral service was held in the Evans Funeral Home in Earlham with the Friends minister L. Willard Reynolds in charge. Gertrude Conrad was in charge of music and Loyd Cook sang. Burial was in the Earlham Cemetery.
