Death of Mrs. Wade Smith

Mrs. Wade Smith, of Des Moines, the daughter of Wes Smith, died at a hospital in Iowa City Tuesday evening. The body was brought to Lily's funeral home in Des Moines, Wednesday.

Mrs. Smith had been suffering from cancer of the stomach since early spring. She was thirty-six years of age at the time of her death. Her mother preceded her in death a number of years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Wade Smith, daughter, Dorothy Preston, and father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Smith.

Des Moines Woman Dies in Iowa City Hospital

Iowa City, Sept. 12. —The body of Mrs. Bessie Smith, who died here yesterday, will be taken to Des Moines for funeral services. Mrs. Smith, who was 35 years old, had come here for medical attention, having been for many years a resident of Des Moines. After the funeral the body will be taken to Winterset for burial.

Obituary

Mrs. Madge Smith

Bessie Madaline Smith, daughter of Ollie and Wesley Smith was born in Winterset October 1892 and departed this life September 11, 1928. She was united in marriage to Webster Harrell August 7, 1909. To this union was born on August 9, 1910, a daughter Dorothy. She was again married to Wade Smith of Granger, who with the daughter, Dorothy Preston, who now makes her home in Woodward, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Smith and one step brother, Earl Gilbrech, of Winterset, survives.

She was a member of the Baptist church since a child. Her death occurred Monday evening, September 10, at a Iowa City hospital. Funeral services were held at the Lilly funeral home in Des Moines, Friday, September 14 and burial was in the Primitive Baptist cemetery northeast of Winterset.
