Oscar B. Ackerman

Oscar Bernard Ackerman, eldest son of William and Gertie Ackerman, was born August 9, 1914 in Madison County near Earlham, Iowa. He passed away October 17, 1964, in an automobile accident near Earlham, Iowa.

His early years were spent in and around Earlham. He attended Penn No. 6 Grade School and Earlham High School. He graduated from Drake University in accounting and law and remained in Des Moines for a number of years working in his profession. He made his home in Earlham with his brother Virgil, and assisted in caring for his mother who has been in ill health for the last years.

He will be remembered by many for his knowledge, interest, and love for antiques.

He was preceded in death by his father on August 23, 1962. He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, a brother Virgil, a sister Virginia, a bother-in-law William R Porter, and many other relatives, neighbors and friends.
