George G. Hulbert dies at Ottumwa

George G. Hulbert, formerly of Winterset, died Monday, April 4, at Ottumwa, where he had lived since 1952. He was 70, years of age.

Mr. Hulbert was born at Traverse City, Mich. on Sept. 13, 1889, a son of Moses and Mary Fisk Hulbert. He spent most of his life in Madison County, where he engaged in farming.

He was married Dec. 24, 1914, to Laveda Harrison. Her death occured in 1946. In 1952, he was married to Greta Collins of Ottumwa.

He was a member of the Church of the Open Bible.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, the Rev. G. A. Hulbert of Anaheim, Calif. and five daughters, Mrs. Helen Sheehan, Mrs. Laura Etter, Mrs. Murriel Baber, all of Des Moines, Mrs. Mary Kephart and Mrs. Evelyn Kephart of Winterset. He also leaves 22 grandchildren; six great grantchildren; two brothers, Clarence Hulbert and Bert Hulbert of Maple City, Mich. and nine step children.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday afternoon from the Church of the Open Bible at Ottumwa, in charge of the Rev. L.C. Card. Burial was made in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
