Fay Benge, Winterset

Services for Fay Benge, 84, Winterset, who died March 1 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held March 5 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Lawson officiating. Burial was at the St Charles Cemetery.

Born at Buxton, Iowa on January 29, 1906, he was the son of Perry and Magie Lane Benge. He was a handyman around Winterset and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He had lived in Winterset since 1939, coming from Booneville.

Survivors include his wife Lois of Winterset; daughters, Peggy Mundell of Macksburg, Pam Brown of Winterset and Paula Ball of Lorimor; a son, Pat of Winterset; brothers, Eddie of Winterset and Richard of Des Moines; sisters, Margorie Kjelland of Bentonville, Ark. and Wilma Cooper of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son , two brothers and five sisters.
