F. W. Worley

Fleming W. Worley was born in Carroll county, Ohio, May 12, 1857, and died at this home in Winterset, on Aug. 20, 1914, age 63 years, 3 months and eight days. He was the youngest child in his father's family, and has no brothers or sisters living.

He came to Iowa in 1871, settling in Mahaska county; moving from there to Audubon county; and in the spring of 1892, came to Madison county, living on the farm southeast of Winteset.

On Feb. 23, 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Harriet L. Newman. Seven children were born to this union, three dying in infancy. Those living are Mrs. George Breeding of Mt. Pleasant, Wesley F. of Winterset, Mrs. Myrtle R. Sankey of St. Charles, and Roy W. of Winterset. All the children were with him during his last sickness and loving hearts and hands ministered to his every need.

When a young man, he united with the M. E. church in Ohio, but at the time of his death he was not affiliated with any church. Four years ago last March, he moved to Winterset from the farm, because of his health, which had not been materially improved. His last sickness was of a few days.

Funeral services were held at the home Aug. 22d conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was in the Rock City cemetery.
