Gayle McKee, 83, died April 24, 2005, at Mission Hospital in Mission, Texas.

A memorial will be held at a later date in Winterset with burial of the cremains at the Winterset Cemetery.

Gayle McKee was born June 10, 1921, in Madison County to John L. and Elsie C. (Addy) McKee. He farmed with his father until he enlisted in the Army in 1943, serving in the European theater during World War II. On Oct. 26, 1941, he married Fayola Reigle of Winterset. Gayle was part owner of Winterset Produce and later worked for the Madison County Roads Department, retiring in 1979. In 2000,he and his wife became permanent residents of Texas. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., and Masonic Lodge, all of Winterset, and
United Ostomy Association in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by four brothers - Donald, Melvin, Harold and Calvin McKee.

He is survived by his wife, Fayola, of Texas and a niece and nephew.

Arrangements were handled by Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, Texas.

GAYLE MCKEE

Gayle McKee was born June 10, 1921 to John L. and Elsie C. Addy McKee in Madison County, IA, and passed away April 24, 2005 at Mission Hospital in Mission TX. Gayle farmed with his father until he enlisted in the army n 1943. He took basic training at Fort Bliss, TX and then was sent to the European Theater of operation and following WWII returned to Winterset, IA.

On October 26, 1941 Gayle married Fayola Reigle, daughter of Lloyd and Lela Reigle of Winterset, IA. Gayle was part owner of Winterset Produce in Winterset and later worked for Madison County Roads Department until 9179 when he had to retire because of health problems.

In 1986 Gayle and Fayola became Winter Texans and in 2000 moved to Texas as permanent residents.

Gayle was a member of American Legion VFW, Masonic Lodge all of Winterset. He was also a member of the Unite Ostomy Association in Des Moines, Iowa.

Gayle was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie as well as brothers Donald, Melvin, Harold and Calvin Mckee.

Gayle is survived by his wife of Texas, niece Marcia and nephew Maurice.

A memorial will be held at a later date in Winterset, IA, with burial of the vremains in the Winterset Cemetery.
