Mrs. Frank Groth of Winterset, a well-known resident of Madison county for three quarters of a century, died Saturday, Feb. 12, at Memorial hospital here. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Groth, was a native of Brooklyn, N. Y., where she was born Nov. 6, 1881. She was the former Louise Matilda Frech, daughter of Christaph and Kathryn Schuelle Frech. She was married here on March 4, 1909, to Frank Groth. His death occurred in 1943.

She was a member of the First United Methodist church of Winterset, and of the Woman's society for Christian Service. She was also affiliated with the Women's Christian Temperance union, and was a charter member of the W. W. club of Union township.

Most of her long life in Madison County was spent on a farm in Union township. She moved into Winterset in 1951.

Surviving are three children, Everett and Lloyd Groth and Mrs. Louise Bunyard, all of Winterset; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lee of Greenfield and Mrs. Clara Meilike of Des Moines. One son and one daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the First United Methodist church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Newton Coughenour, and the Rev. W. A. Samp. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
