Harry Francis Anderson of 315 W. Court Avenue died Thursday, March 6 at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. Mr. Anderson retired from the real estate and abstracting business here in 1974 after 60 years of service.

Born on January 22, 1896, in Orilla in Warren County, he was the son of Axel and Anna D. Groth Anderson. He was united in marriage to Winnie Haines on December 25, 1919 in Winterset. His wife survives him.

A lifelong resident here, Mr. Anderson was an army veteran of World War I. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and the American Legion. He joined Security Loan and Title Co. in 1914, and in 1933 he went into partnership with Leslie Jackson and the business then became Security Loan and Abstract Co. Mr. Anderson retired on October 16, 1974.

Also surviving are two children, Willis Anderson of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Alice Young of Paonia, Colorado; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herman; and a sister, Mabel.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Grotewold officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
