Herman I. Hogbin, who has been employed by the city, as engineer at the Winterset Power plant, died at his home in the south part of town, Sunday, October 28th. He had been ill for a short time with an infection of the bowels. He is survived by his wife and two children, Twyla, aged four years, and Harold, 18 months. He also leaves his father, Seymour Hogbin, one brother, Arthur, and two sisters, Edna and Edith, of Mineral, Kansas.
Mr. Hogbin was 24 years of age, being born at Mineral, Kansas, September 14, 1904. He was married on February 25, 1923, at Mound City, Kansas, to Miss Ireta Turnquist. The Rev. F. Clare McCallon conducted the funeral services at Tidrick's funeral home Monday afternoon, October 29th, and the body was taken to McCune, Kansas, for burial. Those going to McCune were Mrs. Oleta Ralph, Mrs. Hogbin and children and Seymour Hogbin. The deceased had only lived here since March.
