Tuesday, April 13, 1937Prominent Resident of Lee Township Succumbed Last Tuesday
Maurice Lynch, life-time resident of Lee township, died at this home there last Tuesday after a long illness with stomach ulcers. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Lynch was one of the oldest and most prominent residents of Lee township. For many years he had taken an active part in the community, and exerted considerable influence. He was born on the farm where his death occurred.
Mr. Lynch is survived by his widow; two sons, James and Maurice Lynch; four daughters, Mrs. G. C. Watts; Mrs. Robert McLaughlin, and Margaret Lynch, all of Lee township, and Mrs. James L'Estrange of Des Moines; besides a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee township by the pastor, the Rev. J. J. Judge.

Maurice F. Lynch, 68, died at his home near Cumming April 6, after an illness of five weeks.
A life time resident of Madison county, he was born in Lee township February 27, 1869 on the same farm where his death occurred. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Catherine Lynch, six children, James F. Lynch, Marie McLaughlin, Clara Watts, Lucy L’Estrange, Margaret and Maurice M. Lynch, one brother, J. J. Lynch of Des Moines, and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Condon and Mrs. Lucy O’Malley.
Funeral services were held at St. Patrick’s, the Rev. J. J. Judge officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
