FROM EAST PERU. J. D. Weachter, who has been a long time sufferer with consumption, died on Sunday, and was buried in the Peru cemetery on Monday, funeral sermon at the M. E. church, by Rev. W. C. Smith, from the text "His sun went down while yet 'twas day."

Among those in attendance from a distance were Ira Weachter and family, and Robert Morris and wife, of Indianola.
