Dr. D. Hutchinson, well known in Winterset and Madison county, died Tuesday morning, March 31st, at the residence of his son in Council Bluffs. The remains were brought here to Winterset Wednesday evening and on Thursday were buried in the cemetery beside his wife and daughter.

Mrs. Hutchinson died about two years ago, after a long illness. Shortly after her death the Doctor sold out his drug business here and went to Council Bluffs, where all his living children reside, since that time making his home with them. Dr. Hutchinson at the time of his death was about 80 years of age. He was born in Scotland, receiving his literary education in that country. When a young man he came to the United States and studied medicine, and made a life-long practice of his profession.

In the early '60's he came to Winterset, where he resided until about 1878, when he removed to a farm in Jackson township. About 1883 he returned to town, where he remained till after the death of his wife.
