The many friends of Mr. Harrison Evans, who removed from this county to Kansas a few years ago, will be pained to learn of the sudden death of his son, James L., who was called from this world about the middle of May, after a few hours' sickness with congestion of the lungs. Mr. Evans' home near Montgomery, Kansas, is thus broken up, and he goes to live with his son Jesse, in Missouri.

Transcriber note: The William H. and Martha Evans family are in the 1856, 1860, and 1870 Madison County census in Center/Lincoln township.
