Winterset, IowaHoward Keith Clayton Jr., 58, of Winterset, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024 at his home.
Howard was born on January 12, 1966 to Howard and Roberta (Morrison) Clayton in Winterset, Iowa. Growing up, he attended school in Winterset and Earlham. He received his Diesel Mechanics Certification from Lincoln Tech. Buzz, as many called him, worked as a diesel mechanic and truck driver for Waste Management for many years.
Buzz enjoyed collecting antiques and Hot Wheel cars. Over the years, he collected hundreds of toy cars and had them displayed around his home. Buzz also was a metal scrapper and loved to work on cars and motorcycles. Early in his life, he liked to breed and raise coon hounds, and was a member of the Madison County Coon Hunters.
Buzz is survived by his sons, Nicholas (Ashley) Clayton, Dakota (Caryssa) Clayton, and Dalton Clayton; his daughters; Sierra (Tyler) Clausen, and Electra (Travis) Wright; nine grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Sr. and Roberta; and one sister.
At this time no services are planned and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at caldwellparrish.com.
