Lee Banks, Winterset

Services for Lee Banks, 87, a native of Madison County who died September 8, in his rural Winterset home, were held Saturday, September 11, at 10 a.m., at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Parker officiating.

Born July 2, 1895, he was the son of Marion Francis and Malinda J. (Linna) Jane (Smith) Banks. He worked for the Brown Line from 1925 to 1942 and retired from the florist business in 1962 after having been in business since 1937. He was a veteran of World War I as an Army signal corpsman and a charter member of the Green Rogers Post 184, American Legion, Winterset. He was married to Mildred Frances Likens on August 16, 1922.
