Thursday, February 29, 2024Kimberly Shady, of Carson, formerly of Macksburg, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at her home near Carson. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 2, at the Abundant Life Family Church in Creston, with Waylon Clayton officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family.
Kimberly Jo Shady was born May 9, 1959, in Eldon, lowa, to Lundy Charles Weeks and Barbara lone (Bates) Weeks. Kim attended East Union Schools. Kim became a mother early in life and was later united in marriage to Marty Rawling. They were later divorced.
On Nov. 14, 1981, Kim was united in marriage to Martin Wayne "Shady" Shady in Fort Dodge. They moved to Marshall, Texas, and then back to Macksburg, lowa, in 1986. Kim worked for Boyt Manufacturing and later for Woodmarc as a production supervisor. She left Woodmarc to care for her mother, and during that process, she found her true passion, caring for others. She became a CNA and worked at West Bridge Care center putting that passion to work for over 15 years. During this time, she moved to Winterset and most recently to Carson, lowa, where she continued to care for others at Prim Rose Assisted Living in Council Bluffs. Kim enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren at their activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the area casinos.
Kim is survived by her four children, Tory Weeks (Greg Wright), Tyson Rawlings (Cheryl Scott) of Dennison, Kan., Travis (Nicole) Shady of Henderson, lowa, and Jessy (Pam) Shady of Shannon City, lowa; 13 grandchildren, Weston Trapp, Xander Drake, G.J., Gunner and Gavin Wright, Skyler, Zayden, River and Olivia Rawlings, Hunter and Nevada Shady, Ashtyn (Tristan) Petersen, Kamryn Shady (Collin Nordin), Brett Sweeney and Randy Shady; four great-grandchildren, Grace, Abby, Clara and Cayson; four brothers, John Weeks (Shirley Holker) of Macksburg, David (wife, Chris) Weeks of Afton, Danny (wife, Diane) Weeks of Winterset, and Timmy (wife, Lori) Weeks of Prescott; a sister, Ruth (husband, Gary) Sanson of Creston; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin "Shady" Shady in 2007; her son, Michael Shady; sister-in-law, Crystal Weeks; and brother-in-law, Randy Shady.
