ROBERTA FAYE DAVIS Des Moines

Roberta Davis, 80, of Des Moines died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at USA Healthcare in Urbandale after a long illness. Memorial services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens.

Roberta was born May 1, 1923 in Truro, IA. She was the daughter of the late E. Miles and Faye Husted.

She was retired from The Principle Ins. Group in 1983. Roberta enjoyed crafting, painting, gardening, and making friends, of which she had many. She was active with the YWCA, Parents Without Partners, and The Principal Retirement Group. She was a WWII veteran, Chief Petty Officer in the Navy.

She is survived by her children, Dan and Carol Davis of Grimes, Mark Davis of Newbury Port, MA, Paul and Kristi Davis of Clinton and Kitty and John Mehner of Apopka, FL; sisters, Fran (Ed) Egan of Portland, OR, Margie (John) Davis of Cottonwood, AZ, Mary (Shay) Phillips of Truro, Jo (Wayne) Young of Winterset; long-time friend, Judy (Dennis) Lombard of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bridget and granddaughter, Bethany. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
