Martin A. Hollingsworth

Martin A. Hollingsworth, 61, Rt. 1 Box 111C, Winona, died early Sunday morning (Aug. 26, 1984) in an auto accident.

He was born July 23, 1923, in Peru, Iowa, to Martin and Rena Bell Hollingsworth, and married Florence L. Schmidt, Dec. 12, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was a bookkeeper in the Winona County Clerk of Court's office, was a member of the Central Methodist Church, Winona, Rising Sun Masonic Lodge No. 49, St. Charles, Minn., Coeur de Lion No. 3, Nights Templer of Winona; Winona Shrine Club; Royal Arch Masons No. 5 of Winona; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, No. 327 of Winona; Life and Charter Member of Hiawatha Chapter of Disabled American Veterans, Winona Chapter No. 35; Order of Eastern Star, St. Charles Chapter; and served in the European Theater in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; one son, HM 2 William Hollingsworth, U.S. Navy, Westminster, Colo.; one daughter, Renanne Lafky, Sherman, Texas; two brothers, Elmondt Hollingsworth, St. Paul, and Benjamin Hollingsworth, Topeka, Kan.; and one grandchild. One sister has died.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church, Rev. Willard Allin officiating. His body has been cremated.

Friends may call tonight at Fawcett Funeral Home, where there will be a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. and at the Central United Methodist Church Wednesday from 1-2 p.m.

Honorary Bearer's will be members of Hiawatha Chapter No. 35, Disabled American Veterans. A memorial is being arranged.
