Injuries Fatal To Mrs. Ethel J. Garlock, 74

Mrs. Ethel Jeanette Garlock, 74, 212 East 20th St, South Sioux City, died Tuesday, at a Sioux City hospital after suffering injuries in an auto accident September 29.

Mrs. Garlock was injured when a car driven by her husband, Roy H., 75, struck several parked cars after Mr. Garlock lost control on a Sioux City street. Mr. Garlock, who suffered a leg fracture, is reported in fairly good condition at the Methodist hospital.

Mrs. Garlock was born January 25, 1889, in Burnside, la. She was the former Ethel Brown. She was married to Roy H. Garlock, September 4, 1914, in South Sioux City.

Came Here 1926

Mrs. Garlock came to South Sioux City from Earlham, la. in 1926. She was a graduate of Central High School In Sioux City and taught school In Iowa before her marriage.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church of South Sioux, Laura Chapter No. 301, Order of Eastern Star, in South Sioux, and the W.S.C.S. of the First Methodist Church.

Survivors Include the widower, Roy H.; three daughters Mrs. Lucille Soelberg of Vancouver, Wash, Mrs. Margaret McDonald of Sioux City and Mrs. Adell Larson of Omaha; two sons, Rev. Brown Garlock of Corning, la, and Roy H. Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; four-sisters, Mrs. Fern Kugel of Sioux City, Mrs. Marcella Biggs of Carmel Valley, Calif., Miss Lucille Brown of Fondulack, Wis., and Mrs. Minnie Heal of Fort Dodge, la.; one brother, Will Brown of Vidora, Sask., Canada; and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday at the First Methodist Church in South Sioux City. Rev. Charles H. Gates will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery under the direction of the Jack Becker funeral home of South Sioux.
